The most beautiful cotton bale in the world

Gruppo Albini presents at Milano Unica its Giza 45, showing also all phases leading to the manufacturing of the best shirts in the world. In particular David & John Anderson uses this precious cotton for his fabrics.

THE FLOWER AND THE FLOCK - A soft flower turns from yellow into red. A bud destined to transform itself into a boll that opens after three weeks showing the cotton flock. Egyptian cotton has been renowned since centuries ago for its preciousness: the particular climatic conditions and the fertility of the earth alongside the river Nile allowing the cultivation of the best cotton in the world. Amongst them the Giza 45, cultivated exclusively in the Kafir S’Ad area, is the most rare and precious: representing only 0.4% of the total annual Egyptian cotton production.

THE BEST BALE OF COTTON - Albini Group purchases the very best bales of cotton from Egypt, after carefully selecting the source, researching those with the most excellent characteristics in collaboration with Modern Nile, the prestigious private Egyptian company operating in the sale and research of the best cotton. The bale of Giza 45 contains the cotton of the highest quality harvested in the last season, with fibres that are 36 mm long that have an exceptional micronaire of 2,95.

THE COMBED SLIVER - From the cotton flock starts the spinning. The initial step involves the parallelisation of the fibres, eliminating the short and immature ones. This work, spun in the plant of Perosa Argentina with the maximum accuracy by Manifattura di Legnano, the world leader in the production of the finest and most complex yarns, conducted with the highest precision, exalts the extraordinary characteristics of Giza 45 and produces a sliver with a determined length, strength and uniformity.

THE YARN'S CONS - From the sliver very fine yarns are obtained, which give life to very fine fabrics that have a soft, unique and silky handle. An excellent and unique characteristic of Giza 45 is the very low micronaire that enables the finest yarn counts to be achieved from 140/2 right up until 300/2; the finest yarn in the world that gives birth to the very precious Cullinan of David & John Anderson.

THE FABRIC - The exceptional fineness of the yarns allows the production of the most precious fabrics in the world of the David & John Anderson offer, which form the merger between the quality of the raw materials, the creativity of the designers and the best technology. These are the best expression of Made in Italy: fabrics realised in the plant of Albino and embellish in the finishing of Brebbia. The technical characteristics of these fine yarns guarantee the production of light and fresh fabrics that are resistant to washing, with an extraordinary silky handle that doesn’t change over time.

THE SHIRT - From these exceptional fabrics are derived shirts of absolute quality, which express the best of the Italian sartorial tradition, an example of style, elegance and beauty, that underlines one’s personality. Fabrics which are able to emphasize the expertise and knowledge of the most exclusive shirt makers in the world.
