The cotton from the West Indies

The cotton produced in the West Indies, especially in Barbados, is extremely precious. The fibres from here are the longest in the world, reaching 39 mm and are distinguished for their purity and extreme resistance. This is the rarest and most precious variety of cotton on the planet: Sea Island production, compared to world production, is only 0.0004%! Its micronaire, ranging between 2.9 and 3.2, makes it suitable for producing fine count yarns, not extra fine.

The cotton is handpicked and processed expertly so as not to ruin the fibres: a long and costly procedure used for a cotton of such high quality, accurately inspecting it to remove all fragments of soil, sand, leaves and stalks.

A strict quality control system and a partnership network built up over the years fully guarantee the absolute purity. WISICA (West Indian Sea Island Cotton Association) inspects each kilo of cotton produced locally and issues the Certificate of Authenticity.
