Albini and Mittelmoda
Francesco Cecchini is the young designer winner of Mittelmoda 2009 Award, supported by Centro Lino Italiano, Shirt Avenue and Sistema Moda Italia.
It’s a prize assigned to designer able to understand and to emphasize at best, with taste and innovative spirit, the shirting fabrics in linen and cotton. A prize obtained also thanks to the use of Cotonificio Albini fabrics, company all along near to young designers.
The award, that marks the beginning of a collaboration between Cotonificio Albini and the Royal College of Art, has the aim of supporting and promoting the creativity of the new generations in the textile and fashion sectors.
Francesco Cecchini used the linen fabrics of Sahara family, made with the best European linen, of Normandy, certified Master of Linen. Sahara is a fabric yarn dyed, with a classical finishing, bright aspect, with a structure in cloth to favour further on the passage of the air and to accentuate the sense of freshness of the shirt.
The young designer obtained also Kaledo and Italian Fabric Award. Her sources of inspiration arrive from the art’s world joined to unusual climates, where often is difficult to distinguish a cloth from an opera.
“My Muses are countless – the young designer of Milan declares – at times is a travel, others a film but the dream is the choose that really joins everybody, the desire that every of us maintains jealously inside oneself.
Central St. Martin
In 2009 Cotonificio Albini also collaborated with the prestigious Central St. Martin. The pupils made some innovative collections with the fabrics given them by Cotonificio Albini after an accurate selection of the samples prepared by Prof. New, teacher of the Men's Fashion course.
The collections were officially presented at an event held on 30th April in London on the school premises and which involved trade press, buyers and some British stylists who were favourably impressed by the brilliantness of the designers and by the quality of the Cotonificio Albini fabrics.
