The shirt culture
The pleasure of "made to measure"
A need. Or just pleasure. Undoubtedly a step to take for true connoisseurs. To have a 100% customised shirt in your wardrobe, made by hand, designed "to measure" on your body, is a choice you are aware of and which is truly satisfying.
What makes someone have something made to measure, i.e. an Exclusive for just one person? Basically it's the pleasure of having something beautiful and unique which helps your personality emerge. The guarantee of wearing something precious, something that can thrill you. As the yarn count increases, in fact, the cost for the cut and making up the finished garment grows exponentially.
The cut can be done in two ways (by hand or laser) likewise the sewing and the finishes on the collar, cuffs and fly (by hand or with the aid of machines).
Is there a fabric better than others for a shirt “made to measure"? This cannot be said for sure because the culture of the fabric and of the raw material has not spread very far yet. The customer does, in fact, trust in his touch and the design rather than the label. But the quick delivery culture is very widespread. The service offered is of fundamental importance and a shirt that is made to measure must be ready in two or three weeks at most.
At the most famous specialized shirt makers, in Italy and elsewhere, you can find high range Thomas Mason and David & John Anderson fabrics made with the best cottons in the world, capable of enhancing the expert hands of the elite shirt makers.
